#14 Better Reblogs
Find out about this feature in its feature series post.
You’ll find Better Reblogs in the Post Features tab of the Missing e settings page. It has the following custom settings:
- Keep original post tags when reblogging
- Allow reblog posts to automatically (or manually) add tags from the original post
- Automatically add original tags to reblog post
- Add the original post’s tags to the reblog post immediately
- If you turn this off, you can choose to add the original post tags manually with the Reblog Tags button
- Number of retries on failure to get tags from an individual post’s page**
- Enable quick (1-click) reblogging
- Specify which Tumblr to post quick reblogged posts to.
- Always reblog long text posts as text
**Note: Better Reblogs uses the Tumblr RSS feeds to get tags when viewing individual post pages (in order to support adding tags if you choose to reblog). When Tumblr’s servers are unresponsive or slow due to overload on their end, this feature may not get the information it needs. When it fails, it will indicate it with a failure icon. See the FAQ for more information.
During times like this, Better Reblogs will retry loading a number of times before giving up. Increasing this number means you may encounter fewer failed loads, but it also means that it will take a lot longer before you find out that it isn’t going to load!
The icon that indicates that Better Reblogs failed to read the Tumblr RSS feed looks like this:

On success, it will look like this:

- Add reblog button to individual post pages
- Add reblog links to your posts on the dashboard
- Number of retries on failure to add reblog link on dashboard posts (default 4)
Reblog Yourself (along with Magnifier and Timestamps) uses the Tumblr API to get information for adding reblog buttons to your posts on the dashboard. When Tumblr’s API is unresponsive or slow due to overloaded servers on their end, these features may not get the information they need. When they fail, they’ll indicate it with a failure icon (or text) that you can click on to retry. See this post for more information.

#7 Posting Fixes
Find out about this feature in its feature series post.
You’ll find Posting Fixes in the Post Features tab of the Missing e settings page. It has the following custom settings:
- Always enable photo replies (where possible)
- Whenever a new post can be set to allow photo replies, this will be done automatically
- Allow switching back to uploading images on photo posts
- By default, Tumblr allows you to switch to a URL with a “Use a URL instead” option, this will allow you to switch back with a “Upload images instead” option
- Allow inline image uploading for all post types (not just text posts)
- Adds an ”+ Upload Photo” option to all posting pages (including the Tumblr bookmarklet)
- Much like the built-in ”+ Upload Photo” options, these don’t always load when Tumblr is suffering from errors

- Add quick “Queue Post”, “Save Private” and “Save Draft” buttons when posting
- Easy buttons are added to new post pages (when you hover your mouse over the Save button) to quickly queue or save the post as a draft
- Add extra “Post to” menu (for selecting Tumblr blog to post to) nearer to new post publish buttons

- Add an “Edit” button to your sub-Tumblr’s individual post pages
- Number of retries on failure to check for sub-Tumblr post permissions (default 4)
In the background, Posting Fixes checks to see if you have posting permission for a Tumblr account before it adds an “Edit” button. When Tumblr is unresponsive or slow due to overloaded servers on their end, this features may not successfully check if you are a member of a secondary Tumblr account. In this case, the “Edit” button will not be added (this is only temporary).
- Automatically add tags to queued posts
- Tags to add to queued posts (separated by commas)
- Setting these options will automatically add the specified tags to a new queue post or a draft posts being queued
