Missing e continuing to update throughout the weekend!
Over this weekend, as I find more issues with Missing e on the new Tumblr dashboard layout, I will continue to update Missing e. However, I most likely won’t announce new versions unless they fix something major.
You can check to see if your Missing e is up-to-date, by visiting the update page. If a new version is available, you’ll be able to download it there. If you are up-to-date, the page will tell you so!
For example, I just released Missing e 2.13.1 which fixes the magnifier for avatars in dashboard notifications (they no longer open new tabs) and the extra blog drop-down menu when you open the manual reblog page when reblogging your own posts.
If your Missing e is up-to-date and you notice a problem that hasn’t been fixed yet, please let me know!
Missing e v2.9.13 - Portuguese and Plenty o’ Bug Fixes
In the newest version of Missing e, I’ve added support for Tumblr’s upcoming Portuguese translation of the interface.
In addition, there are a laundry list of bug fixes:
- Fix issue with automatic tagging of reblog posts not being added in some cases
- Fix problem with Facebook checkbox not showing up in Quick Reblog menu
- Move Safe Dash button above tracked tags for easier access for those with many tracked tags
- Fix issue with icons sometimes displaying on top of a Quick Reblog menu
You can update immediately by following the instructions on this page: http://missing-e.com/update
IMPORTANT: Missing e v2.7.16 - Fix for Safari “invalid” error/disappearance and some other bug fixes
~ Disappeared on Safari / Safari “Invalid” Error ~
Recently, I changed the way that Missing e is built for Safari. A mistake I made caused some older versions to report themselves as invalid on Safari browsers and cause it to be uninstalled. This is now fixed! If this happened to you, just install Missing e again:
Re-install Missing e for Safari
Safari users that had this problem, your bookmarks will be preserved, but you’ll have to customize your settings again (for example, turn Quick Reblogging back on).
~ Chrome and Firefox Users, Please Update! ~
For everyone else, there’s only a couple of minor fixes, but some that are pretty important!
If you haven’t updated in a while, please do so now!

Missing e version 2.3.9
The last couple days have seen too many updates, but I seem to get really uncomfortable sitting on new features and fixes without releasing them to you as soon as they are done.
In this new version, I’ve fixed a couple of problems with how Missing e handles Fan Mail. First, the entry screen for Fan Mail replies will now close properly. Secondly, an issue with mass deletion of Fan Mail for people who run multiple blogs on one account has been fixed.
Lastly, I’ve added a new option under the Ask Tweaks feature that will will make the Fan Mail entry screen and Fan Mail messages in your inbox slimmer, taking up less of your screen with smaller fonts and less white space. It is not turned on by default, so you’ll have to go to the Missing e settings page (find out how to get there) to change it.

Fan Mail-related ‘Missing e’ bug fixes in upcoming version
There are a couple of bugs I’ve noticed in Missing e that are related to Fan Mail. I wanted you guys to know that there will be fixes for them in the next version of Missing e (which should be available no later than tomorrow).
• Currently, if you attempt to use the mass deletion feature to delete Fan Mail messages received on more than one Tumblr blog at the same time, Missing e will fail to delete some of them.
• When you reply to a Fan Mail message by clicking on the little reply button, the Fan Mail entry screen that comes up will not close.
I’ve already got the fixes working for these, so stay tuned for when the next version is out!
I appreciate your patience since it is difficult for me to be as responsive as I like for adapting Missing e to changes in the Tumblr interface.
Missing e version 2.3.0 is now available!
There are only a couple additions and a few bug fixes in this update:
+ Add “delete” button option for secondary Tumblr permalink post pages
+ Enable photo magnification for drafts and queued posts
! Add reblog button to ask post permalink pages when Better Reblogs ask reblogging option is on but Reblog Yourself is off
! Load correct images with Magnifier for posts that have had images replaced
! Extend sidebar adding to secondary dashboard pages (like /dashboard/2)
! Fix background request for tags that doesn’t retry after the first failure (Chrome-only bug)
! Fix bug that prevented retrying when initially failing to get reblog information for Reblog Yourself or ask reblogging in Better Reblogs (Firefox-only bug)
! Fix resizable rich-text editor (Firefox-only bug)
! Prevent multiple sortable notes buttons being added to posts after sending an ask using the ask box on dashboard feature (Chrome/Firefox bug)
! Prevent duplicate buttons from being added into a page
! Move to common source code base for all platforms

Some bug fixes in ‘Missing e’ 1.7.2
There were a few bugs left from the performance overhaul I did to Missing e’s code. These have been addressed in version 1.7.2!
- Tumblr videos and enlarged photosets not always being hidden by Safe Dash
Firefox-specifc Issues:
- Quick (One-click) Reblogging sometimes loads regular reblog page instead of automatically
- Issue with features not being applied to posts loaded with Tumblr’s _Endless Scrolling
- Long-standing issue with “queued” posts from the Tumblr bookmarklet being posted immediately
