Q:I looked through the faq, and I saw a question similar to this, but I've been hearing that tumblr (not missing e itself) is deleting any accounts that are using missing e. I uninstalled it just to be safe, but is this true?
No. Tumblr has recently demonstrated (please read) that while they do not desire their users to install Missing e, they will not remove accounts for using it or any other extension. Instead, they have opted to limit the amount of technical support these users can receive.
There are many times that users have been suspended for inappropriate activities, but not one case I have ever heard of where Tumblr cited Missing e use as the cause. In any case where you hear this, it is usually misinformation, or assumptions made by a small number of users not based on facts.
It is always best not to propagate rumours as facts.
Q:i feel like such a lame kid for asking but i'm totally lost on how to use the keyboard shortcuts can you explain them? :)
Sure! Basically, Tumblr lets you jump directly to the next post on your dash using the J key and jump to the previous post using the K key. Once you jump to a post using J or K, you can use L to like that post.

Missing e adds a few more shortcuts that you can use once you’ve jumped to a post using J or K. Not all of them are available by default (some, like Quick Reblog have to be activated in the Missing e settings):
Ewill open that post for editing (if it is your post)Cwill open the comment/reply box for that post so you can leave a reply (type in your reply and hitTabandReturnto send the reply without using your mouse)Mwill bookmark the post using the Bookmarker feature
If you use the Quick Reblog feature:
Rwill reblog the post without leaving the dashShift+Rwill open the manual reblog pageDwill reblog the post to your draftsQwill reblog the post to your queueTwill open the Quick Reblog menu and put the cursor in the Tags field so you can add/edit tags. Then, hitTabandReturnto reblog without using your mouse
In addition, you can press the X key to activate and deactivate the Safe Dash feature. You don’t need to navigate to posts using J/K to use this keyboard shortcut.
Q:I was having a horrible night and the "yup" thing basically made it ten times better. Bug-up or not, it unintentionally went a long way to making my mood better.
I’m glad my forgetfulness was of some service!
Q:I've noticed that recently, if you view the source on any tumblog page, at the top is a line of script that looks like it listens for the fake login and displays something with a warning not to enter login info. I haven't seen it pop up ever, but it looks like they are doing something about the fake login screens.
I hadn’t noticed that, but I do see what you are talking about.
Unfortunately, the Tumblr developer who wrote that code didn’t take into account that the script he/she wrote will not actually run on the fake login box. The box itself is in something called an inline frame or iframe that loads content from a completely different server.
A web browser’s security will not allow JavaScript running in you blog page from interacting with or having any effect on what goes on inside that iframe. As a result, the protection Tumblr attempted to implement has no effect!
Alas, a better solution is needed!
Q:If it weren't for Missing e, I would have gotten fed up with tumblr and left altogether a long time ago, leaving some very good friends behind in the process. So I just wanted to thank you for all your hard work.
This is one of the most important factors that keeps me working on Missing e.
I think the fact that Missing e encourages Tumblr users to continue to be a part of this community (and has convinced many former Tumblr users to come back) is a benefit that is too easily missed when considering Missing e’s impact on the Tumblr service.
My goal has only ever been to improve the Tumblr blogging experience. I am not too humble to claim that I believe Missing e has had a role in driving more membership and web traffic to Tumblr and its blogs.
Q:hello,I have a slight problem! :) my browser (I use Chrome currently) wont let me update missing e onto the 2.3.7 version! I really dont know what exactly to do to fix that probem D: could you maybe, only of possible, help me out and see if there are people who have the same problem as me?
Oops. That would be because I forgot to upload the Chrome version!
It should be ready in a few minutes, sorry!
Q:Would it be possible to make it so that the pictures in a post don't all maximize just from clicking on one of them? I really disliked that feature and always had it turned off and now that tumblr is now forcing it instead of making it an optional setting, I'm curious if it would be possible to change the feature to make it not do that. As I rarely would click on all the pictures in a single post.
Yes! I just finished coding it a few second ago.
In the next version of Missing e, you’ll be able to change the default behaviour! If you’ve already turned off the corresponding option in your current version of Missing e, the update will take that into account and set the thumbnail-expanding behaviour to what you’ve already chosen.
Q:The security thing is happening to people who have never used missing e too. It's a known issue and tumblr is working on it. It's just people trying to scare monger as usual.
For your info: Theme customization security issue affecting non-Missing e users!
I don’t think people posting about this are fear mongering, but may just be on edge due to Tumblr’s warning message.
Thank you very much, legochesters for letting Missing e users out there know!
As Tumblr user terrybain writes, you should only ever change your password on the Tumblr preferences page and not in popup windows (who knows where they are coming from).
