Missing e v2.9.15 Fixes: Smart Redirect, Magnifier for crush avatars
An update just went out the door with a couple of small fixes.
First, I’ve fixed a problem that caused the avatars in your Tumblr Crushes to be unclickable for the Missing e Magnifier feature.
Second, I’ve corrected an issue that caused the new-ish Smart Redirect option in the Posting Tweaks feature to not work properly for some people with only one blog associated with their account.
If you don’t want to wait for the new version to automatically update, you can do so manually by visiting http://missing-e.com/update and following the instructions!
Having trouble replying to posts or using the ‘i’ menu on Tumblr avatars?
This isn’t a Missing e problem, as the problem doesn’t go away when Missing e is disabled. It looks like a Tumblr error that I am sure they will fix soon!
If their upcoming fix causes any problems with Missing e, I will be on top of it and make changes as necessary.
Missing e v2.9.13 - Portuguese and Plenty o’ Bug Fixes
In the newest version of Missing e, I’ve added support for Tumblr’s upcoming Portuguese translation of the interface.
In addition, there are a laundry list of bug fixes:
- Fix issue with automatic tagging of reblog posts not being added in some cases
- Fix problem with Facebook checkbox not showing up in Quick Reblog menu
- Move Safe Dash button above tracked tags for easier access for those with many tracked tags
- Fix issue with icons sometimes displaying on top of a Quick Reblog menu
You can update immediately by following the instructions on this page: http://missing-e.com/update
Looks like Tumblr has finally implemented their “Fast Reblog” feature. To use it, hold down the Alt key and click on a reblog button on a dashboard post. Voila, reblogged!
So, why would you need Missing e’s existing Quick Reblog feature? I threw together this helpful chart to show you how Missing e can improve your reblogging!

Missing e v2.9.12 - Fixes for tag-only posts, draggable askboxes and avatar magnification
There are a few fixes in the newest version of Missing e:
- Tag-only posts are now fixed
- Askboxes opened on the dash are draggable again
- Avatar magnification is fixed on your “following” page
To get the new version immediately, following the instructions on this page: http://missing-e.com/update
I’ve updated the layout of the Post Crushes feature to match what you see on your /following page.
No need to update Missing e, this change will be automatic for you!
Tag-Only Posts Not Working
Looks like a Tumblr change has caused the new Missing e feature allowing blank text posts with tags to stop working.
A fix for this will be ready early tomorrow.
How to use Smart Redirecting [New in v2.9.11]
I just added this new option to Missing e version 2.9.11 (update now). You’ll find it in the settings page (find out how to get there under the Post Features in the Posting Tweaks section. It is off by default, but you can activate it.
It works only on new posts, and will not affect where your web browser goes after you reblog a post (since Tumblr usually will bring you back to where you were on the dash when you finish reblogging).
So, if you turn this option on, here’s what you can expect:
- If you click a new post button on your dashboard and then publish a post, you’ll redirect to the dashboard, like normal
- If you click a new post button in your blog page (/blog/username) and then publish a post, it’ll redirect to the blog page of whichever blog you posted to
- If you post a new (not reblogged) post to your queue or drafts, you’ll be redirected to the right queue or drafts
I’m not sure why this isn’t the norm already!

Do you get Tumblr's 'Missing e' warning multiple times after you acknowledge it?
Speaking of annoying pop-up messages…
Tumblr displays a warning message to users of Missing e, highlighting what they believe are potential risks, and ask users to acknowledge before continuing to use Tumblr. However, many users are finding that to continue using Missing e, they have to acknowledge this warning multiple times.
First, Educate Yourself
While I strongly encourage you to read Tumblr’s warning, and Missing e’s official response explaining why the browser extension is safe to use, I realize that a repetitive popup message can be aggravating.
You Can Do Something About Repeated Warnings
It is not likely that Missing e will ever hide or prevent this warning from being displayed, but many users have found a simple, alternative solution that works to hide this warning after it has been read and acknowledged at least once.

Q:I was having a horrible night and the "yup" thing basically made it ten times better. Bug-up or not, it unintentionally went a long way to making my mood better.
I’m glad my forgetfulness was of some service!
